ब्रह्मोवाच |
Lord Brahma said (to Lord Shiva)



अतस्त्वया महादेव सुरर्षिप्राणरक्षक |
साधूनां रक्षणार्थाय हन्तव्या म्लेच्छजातयः || 42 ||
Therefore, the Great God, the protector of the lives of Devas and sages, the mlechccha type (devils) should be killed by you for the protection of the good people.
